About Rory D. Flay
In law school, Rory Flay worked for nonprofits handling family law issues related to the Indian Child Welfare Act. This experience shaped his career, as he witnessed the impact that court decisions have on families’ lives.
"Practicing family law allows me to give back to others. This is the kind of work I can get up in the morning and be proud of."
Rory finds crafting succinct legal pleadings and conducting arguments in court professionally fulfilling. However, he always remembers that the human side of his job matters the most. In both the courtroom and through his written advocacy, Rory focuses on the real-life impact on his clients’ lives.
"It’s important to me that my clients’ positions are clearly asserted, as the outcome of their cases will be life-defining."
Those who work with Rory, including opposing counsel, appreciate his empathetic approach, clear communication, and integrity. His clients know him to be approachable and tenacious in promoting their interests.
Rory grew up splitting his time between the East Coast and West Coast. A former touring musician, he collects records and cassette tapes. He’s an outdoorsman who enjoys biking, hiking, and camping. He loves to cook on the weekends and has a Border Collie named Pasta.
